Hospice Care: The Earlier, the Better

If you believe a loved one may benefit from hospice care, call as soon as possible. The earlier hospice is involved, the better the quality of life and care for both patient and family. Hospice is designed to work with patients and families for at least six months. We also have a palliative care program for those interested.

When you call, we’ll schedule a visit with you to share information and answer your questions.

If you wish, and if the staff member finds that your loved one is appropriate for hospice or palliative care, we can admit him or her to the program quickly.

We will ask for your healthcare provider’s name, so we can contact them to request an order for hospice care. Care begins once a providee agrees to the order for care.

If you don’t have a provider, we can provide one for you.

To request information or a free consultation, or to speak to someone about hospice or palliative care, please contact us here or call us 859-986-1500.

Isn’t it expensive?

NO. The cost of care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance. Our palliative and grief care programs are donor supported and you are not invoiced for care.

We provide care for all, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.

Many common questions are answered on our FAQs page.

For many families, the hardest part about making difficult healthcare decisions is knowing how to begin discussing them.

We recommend The Conversation Project - Have You Had The Conversation? as a place to start. This online resource is full of information designed to empower those with serious illness and their families with information they need to make the best choices for them. It also has helpful tips on how to talk about important decisions with healthcare providers and each other.
