Gala on Derby Eve: Reservations Open

Your “place to be on Derby Eve” is back for its 12th year: The Gala on Derby Eve.

The black-tie optional benefit gala brings together 200-plus guests in Richmond each year to celebrate Kentucky’s Derby tradition while raising funds for Hospice Care Plus.

The 2015 Gala will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Keen Johnson Building at Eastern Kentucky University. It begins at 7:00 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres and continues with dinner, live music, dancing, and an auction. Reservations are available on a first-come, first-serve basis by contacting Hospice at 859-986-1500 or hospice@hospicecp.org.

Gala on Derby Eve

Roses, music, and dancing are top draws at the Gala on Derby Eve. Make your reservations today.

This year’s Gala features the live music of Caught Red Handed, complementary valet parking, a seated dinner, and—new this year—a photo booth for preserving your Gala memories.

The event will also include the return of the live and silent auction, sponsored by the Berea Younger Woman’s Club. The club took a two-year break from organizing the auction, but returns this year with a flourish: one of the auction items is a week-long Hawaiian vacation.

The Gala on Derby Eve is organized each year by a committee of Madison County residents whose original goal was to donate proceeds each year to a local non-profit. Hospice Care Plus was selected and has been the recipient each year.

Hospice Care Plus is a non-profit organization serving Estill, Jackson, Lee, Madison, Owsley and Rockcastle counties. Services include hospice care, palliative care, bereavement support, and inpatient hospice care at the Compassionate Care Center.
