Make a Difference Through Volunteer Service.

Compassionate Care Plus was founded by volunteers in 1981, and more than four decades later, volunteers continue to play an essential role in serving patients, families, and our communities.

Whether you have one hour a month or ten hours a week, there's a meaningful place for you on our volunteer team. We offer a variety of opportunities to match your interests, talents, and availability.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life, including students, working professionals, retirees, and community members who simply want to make a difference. Whatever your schedule or stage of life, we'll help you find a role that's right for you.

We'll provide the training, resources, and support you need to feel confident and prepared as a Compassionate Care Plus volunteer.

Care and Companionship

Volunteers in this role will be matched with a current patient/family to provide companionship and support. These volunteers may bring special skills to the match, such as scrapbooking or knitting, that come in handy in working with a caregiver or patient. Care and companionship volunteers might agree to one-time matches for a simple task, like running an errand, or more long-term, weekly visits.

Administrative Support

Help keep Compassionate Care Plus running smoothly by supporting our staff behind the scenes. Opportunities include greeting visitors, answering phones, assisting at the Compassionate Care Center front desk, preparing mailings, filing, scanning, data entry, and other administrative projects.

Whether you can volunteer a few hours each month or on a regular weekly schedule, your support makes a meaningful difference.

Veteran-to-Veteran Volunteer Program

In this program, veteran volunteers use their own military experience to support and honor veteran patients. As part of our participation in the national We Honor Veterans partnership, volunteers are trained to provide one-on-one recognition presentations, thanking veteran patients for their service and sacrifice.

Veteran volunteers may also be matched with veteran patients to offer understanding, shared connection, and meaningful companionship.

Special Skill Volunteers: Art, Music, Massage, and More

We welcome volunteers with a wide range of special skills and talents, including gardening/landscaping, music, photography, crafting, art, hair dresser/barber, massage therapy, pet therapy, and other creative or professional abilities.

These unique skills help enrich the experience of patients and families in meaningful ways.

Special Event Support

Special Events volunteers assist with event planning and logistics.

Whether Compassionate Care Plus is serving as the event hosts or we're the beneficiaries of a community event, we always like to have some of our volunteers involved.

Special Event volunteers can provide support through decorating, securing donated items, assisting at registration tables, greeting guests, and much more!

Grief & Loss Support

Volunteers help bring comfort and connection to individuals and families who are grieving. Opportunities include making supportive phone calls, assisting with grief support groups and workshops, preparing mailings, helping with children's programs, and supporting special events like our annual Remembrance Tree Ceremony.

Group Volunteer Projects

Groups such as athletic teams, businesses, church youth groups, families, and other community organizations have completed meaningful volunteer projects with Compassionate Care Plus.

If your group is looking for a meaningful service opportunity, we welcome groups of all sizes to support our mission through projects such as landscaping and beautification, assembling care packages, preparing meals, organizing donation drives, assisting with special events, and other hands-on activities that make a lasting impact.
