On Tuesday, May 23, Hospice Care Plus will join with the community to honor Memorial Day with
a special service.
The annual Hospice Care Plus May Memorial Service is at 6:00 p.m. on May 23 at First Baptist Church in Richmond. A reception will follow with refreshments provided by hospice volunteers.
The service gives the community a chance to pause to remember loved ones in the week leading up to Memorial Day. Guests may submit names of loved ones they wish to have included in the ceremony anytime up to and on the day of the service. To submit a name in advance of the service, contact Nikki Stuart at 859-756-4755 or hospice@hospicecp.org through May 22. On May 23, names may be submitted on site at First Baptist Church.
The May Memorial Service is led by Hospice Care Plus chaplains and includes ecumenical prayer and readings, music, and the reading of names. Guests are given a personalized memorial candle that will be lit when their loved one’s name is read.
Memorial donations are appreciated when a candle is requested, but they are not required. Donations are used to fund all Hospice Care Plus programs: bereavement support, hospice home care, palliative care, and the Compassionate Care Center. All programs are provided regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
