Reservations Open for Gala on Derby Eve

Your “place to be on Derby Eve” is back for its 13th year:  The Gala on Derby Eve.

The benefit gala brings together 200-plus guests in Richmond each year to celebrate Kentucky’s Derby tradition while raising funds for Hospice Care Plus.reservation web button

This year’s Gala on Derby Eve is Friday, May 6 at 7 p.m. Registration is now open and is available online or by phone at 986-1500 or 800-806-5462.

For the first time in nine years, the Gala is going back under the tent on the beautiful grounds of Battlefield Memorial Park at 101 Battlefield Memorial Highway in Richmond.

The Gala begins at 7:00 p.m. with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, then continues with dinner, live music, dancing, and both live and silent auctions.

New this year is the Bourbon Tasting Tent, which features several top-shelf bourbons and a commemorative bourbon-tasting glass made specifically for 2016 Gala guests.  Those who purchase the $25 glass when they make their reservation will be granted entrance to the Bourbon Tasting Tent.

The Gala also features the Bent Penny Band, complimentary valet parking, dinner, a photo booth for preserving your Gala memories, live and silent auctions, and a commemorative 2016 Derby glass and a box of Derby chocolates for each guest.

The Gala on Derby Eve is organized each year by a committee of Madison County residents whose original goal was to donate proceeds each year to a local non-profit. Hospice Care Plus was selected and has been the recipient each year.

Hospice Care Plus is a non-profit organization serving Estill, Jackson, Lee, Madison, Owsley and Rockcastle counties. Services include hospice care, palliative care, bereavement support, and inpatient hospice care at the Compassionate Care Center. Visit www.hospicecp.org for more information.
