Beattyville Christian Church is hosting a special event—An Evening of Music—on Saturday, Nov. 5,
at 6pm, to raise funds for Hospice Care Plus.
Hospice Care Plus is Lee and Owsley’s non-profit provider of hospice care, palliative care, and grief support services.
Featured music includes bluegrass, jazz, classical, country, gospel and more. Local musicians will be highlighted.
The organizers suggest a donation of at least $5.00 to attend, which includes admission to the entire evening of music plus a variety of refreshments. All proceeds benefit Hospice Care Plus.
Linda Congleton, a Beattyville resident and member of the Hospice Care Plus Board of Directors, has lead the effort to organize the Evening of Music for several years now.
“We are so grateful to Linda, all the volunteers who help her, Beattyville Christian Church, and everyone who’s worked so hard on this event,” says Sarah Rollins, special events coordinator at Hospice Care Plus. “They wanted a way to support hospice care in the community, so they came up with this idea, ran with it, and made it successful.”
In addition to raising funds for the non-profit Hospice Care Plus, the event also showcases the range of talent in the area, according to Sarah.
“This will be my first year at the event. But, every single person I’ve spoken to has said that the music and talent are extraordinary. I’ve been told that I won’t believe it until I see it myself, so I can’t wait.”
