About Hospice Care Plus

Compassionate care for you and your loved one.

Hospice Care Plus, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing hospice, palliative, and grief and loss care to those with a serious illness and their families, regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay.

Founded in 1981 by concerned healthcare professionals in Madison County, we have grown from an all-volunteer program serving one county to an award-winning organization caring for more than 700 patients and families annually in Estill, Jackson, Lee, Madison, Owsley, and Rockcastle counties.

Now, with over 40 years of specialized care and experience, the community remains at the heart of our mission and organization.

What We Do

Our care is tailored to the needs, hopes, and values of our patients and families. Our expert, compassionate teams provide specialized care to enhance quality of life, alleviate pain and symptoms, and promote dignity and respect.

Our services are supported and extended by a community of experienced volunteers, community partners, donors, and supporters who enable us to offer above-and-beyond care in all of our programs.

We provide care to all, regardless of race, color, creed, sex, handicap, sexual orientation, veteran status, diagnosis, or national origin.

Isn’t it expensive?

NO. The cost of care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance. Our palliative and grief care programs are donor supported and you are not invoiced for care.

We provide care for all, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.

Our Mission:

Hospice Care Plus empowers those we serve to enjoy the highest quality of life, respecting their values, beliefs, needs, and goals through specialized care, education, resources, and grief support.

Our Values:

Compassion. Hope. Dignity. Integrity. Accountability.

Our mission reflects the values we hold dear, and our commitment to these values shows in the care we provide.

Our Promise:

These values have led us to promise to provide core services to ensure comfort and dignity, regardless of ability to pay.

Our services are supported and extended by a community of experienced volunteers, community partners, donors, and supporters who enable us to offer above-and-beyond care in all of our programs.

Our team is made up of compassionate, expert staff members who work together to address the needs of the seriously ill and those who are grieving. They focus on patients, caregivers, and families with a goal of maximizing comfort, quality of life, and hope.

Volunteers support our care directly and directly in a range of ways. They work on site at our Compassionate Care Center, at events, and even in the homes of patients and families. They add depth and heart to our care and programs.

Our Commitment to Community

Our mission drives us to support our community by addressing needs related to serious illness and grief and loss for those we care for and the community at large. Our care is provided to all, regardless of race, color, creed, sex, handicap, sexual orientation, veteran status, diagnosis, or national origin.

Where is Hospice Care Plus Located?

Wherever you call home, we come to you.

Hospice Care Plus & Compassionate Care Center is located in Richmond, but our Home Hospice and Palliative Care programs are dedicated to allowing our patients to be where they want to be, with the people they care about most.

For most, that means staying home. Wherever you call home - an assisted living community, nursing home, subdivision, or family farm - we come to you.
