Hospital Beds, Medicines, and Supplies

One of the most helpful things about the hospice Medicare benefit is that it covers medical equipment and supplies -- which are very expensive and NOT typically covered by insurance.

When a person enrolls in hospice care, nearly all of their medical equipment and supplies are covered by insurance. This may include hospital beds, wound care supplies, bedside commodes, wheelchairs, oxygen machines, walkers, and so much more.

The hospice benefit covers the cost of the equipment and its delivery to the patient’s home. There, professionals will set it up and, in conjunction with our team, provide instructions on its use.

“It was an enormous relief to have everything my father needed to be comfortable and cared for delivered right to our door.

Everyone took the time to make sure we knew how to use the equipment and supplies.

That gave me much-needed confidence, as a caregiver, that my father’s needs were being met in the best possible way, at home, where he wished to be.”

Isn’t it expensive?

NO. The cost of care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance. Our palliative and grief care programs are donor supported and you are not invoiced for care.

We provide care for all, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
