Hospice Care Plus is now offering a bi-weekly grief support group for those whose loved ones were cared for by the organization.
The group meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Hospice Care Plus & Compassionate Care Center, 350 Isaacs Lane in Richmond.
Pre-registration is requested before attending for the first time. It can be completed online, or by calling 859-986-1500.
Abby Embry, Hospice’s grief and loss support coordinator, says the weekly group is relaxed and informal.
“I want people to feel comfortable dropping in when they feel they need extra support,” says Abby. “Something remarkable can happen when we share our grief stories with others and hear their stories as well. While you are feeling compassion for them, you build it up for yourself.”
For those who are not available on Thursday afternoons or who prefer one-on-one support, Abby offers virtual, phone, and in-person appointments. To request an appointment, call 859-986-1500.
Although the current bi-weekly support group is only for those whose loved ones were cared for by Hospice Care Plus, anyone in the community may contact the Hospice Care Plus Grief and Loss Support Program to request other grief support services.
All grief support services are provided at no charge.
